Meet Peter

The mastermind behind The Kombinator

The Kombinator was born eight years ago out of Peter's desire to break free from the confines of working for another panel shop. Fueled by a passion for Kombis, he rented a factory and embarked on a journey into panel repairs and Kombi restoration, giving life to The Kombinator.

Peter is a fully qualified panel beater and spray painter with a diverse background in all things mechanical. His expertise and experience set the foundation for the exceptional work carried out at The Kombinator.

For Peter, the allure of classic cars lies in the profound satisfaction derived from restoring someone's cherished vehicle to its former glory. The true reward, he believes, is witnessing the joy on clients' faces when they pick up their fully restored Kombis—a testament to the dedication and craftsmanship that defines The Kombinator's approach to car restoration.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Do you offer free quotes for restoration projects?
We sure do! Simply contact us by filling out the form below or give us a call to discuss your restoration or repair.
  • What payment option do you accept for your services?
With all projects, there is an upfront deposit that needs to be paid, which will then be deducted from the first invoice. As we begin working on the project, a weekly invoice will be sent. This will be all discussed within the contract before we begin.
  • Can you repair minor accident damage on classic cars?
Absolutely. Our services include repairs of all kinds, including minor accident damage, dings, or panel damage. We’ll restore your car back to its former glory.
  • Are you open to customisation requests for my classic car?
Certainly. We are happy to discuss any customisation, modification or improvement requests when discussing your project.
  • Can you match the original paint colour of my classic car?
Restoring the original paint colour might be a bit difficult due to the age of the car and the paint being older than the current available paint options. Nevertheless, upon request, we are committed to making every effort to closely match the colour. If any concerns arise, we will communicate with you before initiating the project to ensure your satisfaction.
  • Do you provide pickup and delivery services for restoration projects?
For unregistered restoration projects, a tow truck is typically needed. If you're nearby, we can arrange towing for your classic car at an extra cost. However, if you're outside the Northern Beaches radius, you'll need to handle the towing arrangements independently.
  • Can I bring in my vintage car for a general checkup and maintenance?
Absolutely, we are more than happy to do a checkup and maintenance for your vintage car.
  • How do you handle rare or hard-to-find replacement parts?
When it comes to sourcing parts, we either find them through the internet or other suppliers overseas. Alternatively, we can work together to gather the necessary parts for your restoration project.
  • Do you take any insurance work?
No, we don’t take any insurance work.
